Is there a difference between International Relations and International Affairs?
I believe there is a difference, to a certain extent. International Affairs deals more on the lines of national security and regional issues that directly affect the state. This can include national interests, trade, and borders. International Relations deals with the historical aspect of bilateral and multilateral relations, diplomatic ties, and the multilateral collaborations to build nongovernmental organizations, such as the UN, to assist in state resolutions that countries would otherwise not have jurisdiction to engage in. For starters....but, both terms are used academically to represent the same thing.
No, International relations (IR) or international affairs (IA)are the same but are used both. Also they are commonly referred to as international studies (IS), global studies (GS), or global affairs (GA)
