NATO has been in the news and the focal point of political discussions for some time now. But over the past year, there has been a recurring theme about the alliance, and that is the contribution that comes with membership. This map shows the alliance member states and their real share of GDP % in the year 2020. It shows e.g. that the Benelux countries are a long way from paying the required 2%. It also shows that member states that are the closest to Russia are paying the minimum 2% and sometimes even more. In the end, of course, the United States is the biggest contributor to the alliance.
